Odjel za matematiku Sveučilišta Josipa Jurja Strossmayera u Osijeku organizira predavanje Constructions of holomorphic discs in complex manifolds, na engleskom jeziku

NAJAVA – Predavanje će se održati u četvrtak, 14. siječnja 2016. godine s početkom u 17 sati u predavaonici broj 36 na Odjelu za matematiku Sveučilišta Josipa Jurja Strossmayera u Osijeku (Trg Ljudevita Gaja 6).

• dr. Barbara Drinovec Drnovšek, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia

I will present a method of constructing proper holomorphic maps from the unit disc in C into complex manifolds. For the local step an approximate solutions to a certain Riemann-Hilbert problem is used and local corrections are glued using holomorphic sprays. Recently, the same method has also been used in constructions of conformal minimal discs in R^n.
